Můj život v České republice je jako život náladové a protivné kočky. Přál jsem si, abych se stal někým, koho budou mít všichni rádi, ale postupně jsem si uvědomil, že takový vůbec nejsem. Při studiu ilustrace jsem zjistil, že nejupřímnější způsob jak vyjádřit své nejistoty a úzkosti, je přeměnit je v kočku. To je ta nejpravdivější verze mě samotného.
Peng Hsiung ( *1987) je původem taiwanský illustrátor. Studuje v ateliéru ilustrace na pražské UMPRUM. Xao zaplaví spoustou koček kreslených voskovými pastely. Peng pracuje s nonsensem a absurditou, jeho obrázky jsou barevné a veselé ale občas vyjeví hlubší zprávu, která se skrývá pod povrchem.

My life in the Czech Republic feels like the life of a grumpy and difficult cat. I have expectations of myself, hoping to become someone that everyone loves, but I’ve come to realize that I’m not like that at all. While studying illustration, I discovered that the most honest way for me to express my insecurities and anxieties is by turning them into a cat. This is the truest version of myself.
Peng Hsiung ( *1987) is a taiwanese illustrator currently studying master digree at UMPRUM in Prague. In Xao he will show a lot of colorfull wax pastel drawings and paintings of self cat portraits. In his drawings he is playing with absurdity, nonsense and no ordinary playfull views of life that sometimes hit you with heavy message.
